The scenery along the train is really beautiful, and it is very relaxing to sit and enjoy it. On the way to see the penguins, I unexpectedly saw a lot of kangaroos, which was a surprise! The whole trip was fun.

Not to exaggerate but this is one of the best tour I’ve been on in awhile. Very professional guide, great energy, great music, great navigator too. Our guide knows a lot about the in and out of Phillip Island too, which spot is great for spotting wildlife or has the better the Gelato. I guess it’s on Klook’s Choice for a reason. Kudos Explore Australia Team, Kudos our guide Brooke. 👍🏻💯

Joined the Puffing Billy & Philip Island Tour and Great Ocean Road Tour. Picked up / Drop-off location was great since it’s within the CBD area. Also visited many iconic tourist attractions during the tours!

The experience at penguin parade was so fun but the information given in the voucher was slightly off. Firstly, the location that klook displayed on the booking confirmation was incorrect, it should be the Penguin Parade, not Philip Island Nature Parks. It was another 15-20 minute drive to the correct location. Just need to locate the visitor centre and go towards the rear entrance for the penguin parade. There is no need to exchange a physical ticket.

Good itinerary and didn't need to rush through the items. Our guide is Jono and he is very knowledgeable and friendly, giving us a nice time during the bus ride and provide us with good tips and information about our visits. We enjoy the tour so much. The shuttle bus was comfortable. Our original choice of pickup location at Dockside Tower was not available and was reassigned at The Savoy Hotel. It would be better if a closer alternative were offered as during the return trip, one of the stops is at Ritz Carlton which is slightly closer to Dockside Towers than the Savoy.

Was a really great experience. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Philip island. It’s a must see of Victoria. The penguins are very small and cute.

Enjoyed every part of the tour. It rained for some parts of the tour but it was all good! My favorite part was riding the Puffing Billy train and Penguin Parade at night! Definitely worth the wait. More power!

There are two main attractions, the first is the steam train and the second is to see the penguins, the rest of the time is overcast on the train, so it’s not very good to see, however it is very special when the penguins come ashore at 6:00pm and get there at probably 5:00pm and start waiting

2. The Nobbies

For amazing ocean views and cool rock formations, check out the Nobbies. Here, you can walk along the boardwalks to check out hidden beaches and see seals in their natural habitat. And definitely, see the blowhole—it’s an awesome water show.

3. Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park

Penguin Parade Tips for Your Visit

How early should I get to the Penguin Parade?

You should arrive at least 1 hour before the penguins show up. This will give you plenty of time to check out the visitor center, stroll around the secluded beach, and find a good spot on the viewing platform.

How long does the Penguin Parade last?

The Penguin Parade lasts about an hour. If you get there an hour before sunset, you should plan for a total of two hours for the entire experience.

When’s the best month to watch the Penguin Parade

The Penguin Parade at Phillip Island Nature Parks is a great attraction all year, but some months are better for visiting. The best times to go are October, November, March, or April. During these months, the weather is warmer, and the sunset happens earlier. Plus, you can avoid big crowds and have a better chance of getting a great view of the penguins.
